Once you find love
You fall into romanticism
Diving and searching for words that inexplicably complete
the definition that binds you
One to another
“…You are everything
And everything is you…”
Words you jot down when no one is looking
The air is sweeter
And the sky is more indigo than blue
More desirable to the eye
To gaze at in amazement
"Oh how it feels to be freely in love"
And yet for a moment, you forget
That everyone isn't so open to your love
Even if they see happiness beaming from your sweat glands
More than plenty have a few words to describe how they see
your love
And you wonder to yourself
"How can they not see what I see when I look
at....?"
And yet they never do
Even when you show them from every angle
They remain blind
Their idea of what love should be for you, isn’t what they
see
They don’t see their own image, so they denounce the
existence
It is not until you
Stop the cycle of “people-pleasing”
And regain your stance of being un-phased by their opinion
That THEY see
The love you have for THEM
Once you find love
A battle seems to transpire
The harmonious war of “us against them” rings
But
It’s through the trenches that you realize
How strong your love is
How deep your faith is
And worthy of IT is to have ALL of you
Or none of you
That’s when true love is birthed
And the superficial façade sheds
It isn’t until then that it becomes real
