Social Network

Naked and abused
Going nowhere fast
A picture a day
Giving Instagram your last
Signing your soul away
For pay per day
Shaking your assets
For dividends
Calling everyone your best friend
Every "like" makes you feel closer
But just not close enough
And no one
Quite knows
What you're searching for
Commenting on your beauty
Even when your smile is broken
Your eyes are puffy
And your face is red
But just a few filters deep
And there you find it
Buried deep
Deeper than you ever imagined
Your self esteem
Lost in a hopeless upload
Searching for love and acceptance
Hoping everyday
That maybe...
...just maybe
This virtual world
Will unfold
Birth tangible lovers
Dangle them from strings
Allowing you to pick them off as you please
Yet the day never comes
And more clothes come off
With every upload

Queen (To Be Continued)

I can't say why your eyes pierce into my soul
Or why my heart flutters when you speak
Even if my words don't marry my actions
My inner being is easily excited by your presence

I may not love the way I anger you
Or how sad I've seen you get
But the smile and gazes you give
I can't fathom a Queen more radiant

No one has ever held my attention the way you have
Even glancing at others is a bore
To stare at you
Or feel your touch
Takes me to highs I can't explain

(to be continued)

Queen (Lay Down Your Bones)

Lay down your bones my Queen
And let me tend to your soul
Heal open wounds
And dust off your crown

Even the wisest
Fall short
I'm not the wisest
I'm not the best
But I know I've stabbed your heart
When I was only trying to
Penetrate it
Adorn it with my soul
But my selfish ways scorned your beautiful soul

Even though the war is over
The calm is here
Lay down your bones
Let me cleanse you
Rebuild you
Uplift you
Fill you with love
Never to betray you again
Honor your body from the outside in
Let me heal the scars I've caused

You have my deepest apologies
Queen
I love you to the end of this earth and back
You're my forever love

...even the wisest
Fall short
